About ABOUT Camera in hand I’ve wandered through life, exploring each passage through its lens. Children were my subjects when I was having babies, the built environment while I was a student, ceremonies when my children were of the age to marry, generations now that I have grandbabies. I love beauty, light and history. I have worked as an architectural photographer. As a wedding photographer. As a woman seeking out and taking note of family connections, planned details, ceremonial milestones. NEW WORK Today memoir and legacy obsess me. The telling of stories through image. The creation of visual narratives for clients who celebrate lives fully lived. I think about the centuries-old paintings I studied in art history classes – oils of families in their best clothing and jewelry, prosperous couples surrounded by a tumbling mix of children and dogs in front of their homes. About how entire stories can be told by a single painting. My clients are (mostly) women who have the perspective and wisdom to understand what is of value to them. Who want to pass along the story of close connections with the people who matter, who wish to reflect on their lives and the things that give it meaning. I travel with these women and their families, go to their homes/vacation homes, wherever family and close friends gather to explore, have fun, be together. These are long-term projects/relationships, similar to those I have with wedding clients who have now become parents. I create collections of moments in time, each as meaningful as any special occasion. Each collection is edited, uncluttered, powerful so that you can feel the valuable part of age, get a sense of the perspective, see the beauty and joyful moments of connection in a woman’s life, understand her world.
